It was the trip down memory lane which created all those painful but humorous memories for me. The book did a great job of really capturing those struggles that I went through way back then.

Sure glad those times are in the past, at times they felt like they would crush me or effect the little sanity that I had.

This book will be a great resource and comfort to many who are going through what seems to be grounds we all go through, paid or volunteer.

Todd, I agree with your review. I haven't finished it yet (will today).

For what I read so far, it is a great book. Great can also equal painful realisations of my own shortcomings, and what I need to work on in my own personal development.

[...] I wrote yesterday about the importance of a strong finish at the close of your day will facilitate a confident, clear mindset for a successful next day. In there I talked about my “mind dumping” habit, turning items into S.M.A.R.T.E.R. actionable items, and for me, this is where I also settle what the first thing I will take on in the morning. The item that falls in my top 20% of what only I can do but will result in 80% of a return for me. If you want you can read the first post on a productive day starts the night before.
This new book written by Max Lucado is a must read. The idea behind the book is that you were made to make a difference. Pretty much everything I have read by Max Lucado has been challenging and inspiring and this book is no different. It challenges you to act upon what God has outlined for us.
This book made me laugh and it made me cry. I found myself in the examples he used in the book. It has already made a difference in my life and how I view other people.

[...] Lessons on focus. Here is one that is not about tools at all but your focus. Simplifying your focus with fewer tools will make you more effective with those tools. Simplifying your focus into the top 20% of what only you can do and delegate out the rest will help you become more effective as well. [...]

[...] Not as much about the tool as it is about you. Through this simplifying journey of mine I have read great posts of wonderful tools, and many I re-tweet or re-post as well. For those who advertise all the great tools they are using to simplifying their life, months later I read of their life out of control. Read on and learn what I pick up from these lessons.
