This 29 minute documentary has become a viral hit online, trending on twitter and has been shared nearly 4 million times on Facebook in the past week and is titled after the Ugandan guerilla group LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army). Please know this video is not a feel good video. It does come with a PG rating due to the material it covers.
Joesph Kony has abducted over 30,000 children and forced them to be child soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is invisible to the world. Few know his name, even fewer know his crimes. This year is a final push in making Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice. After watching the film you can help by taking action at Invisible Children.
I urge you before you do anything, to do your own research, study all the angles of this story. Here is just one example of another blogger agreeing that Kony is a terrible criminal but also tries to fill in other blanks. This is why I urge you to to do your own research for the opportunity of a more complete picture. But one thing I do think that everyone has agreed upon is, Kony and his horrific crimes against children must come to an end.
